About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The Covenant Journal of Business and Social Sciences (CJBSS) is an open access, peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary journal, anchored on a philosophy of academic excellence through proper and effective dissemination of output of development studies. The mission is to be one of the most referenced Journals by scholars and professionals in the field of Management and Social Sciences. In achieving this, the Journal will,

  1. Serve outlets for scholar and practitioners involved in research at both theoretical and empirical levels towards challenging current thinking ad proffering new solutions to problems of the society.
  2. Help to promote cross-fertilization of ideas among scholars and practitioners with a view to enriching the standard of practice and elevating scholarship.
  3. Serve as a major source for coverage of global policy issues, thereby contributing to not only re-engineering the society, but also bridging the gap between town and gown.
  4. Serve as a forum for disseminating information on conferences and seminars in the College of Management and Social Sciences.
  5. Focus on issues of economic and business issues such as economic growth and development, international trade, youth unrest, accounting standards, relevant interdisciplinary discuss and other economic and business related contemporary issues etc.

Peer Review Process

Manuscripts submitted to the Covenant Journal of Business and Social Sciences (CJBSS) will generally be blind reviewed by set senior academics in the relevant fields usually two set of reviewers, and those that satisfy the assessment of the editorial board peer review process will be published subject to the authors consent and requirements of the Journal.

The Covenant Journal of Business and Social Sciences (CJBSS) aims for very fast publication and will endeavor to reach a first decision within the first four weeks of submission.  The time line for review will usually be a minimum of two weeks and a maximum of four weeks for final decision.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

The Covenant Journal of Business and Social Sciences (CJBSS) is a publication of the College of Business and Social Sciences, Covenant University, Ota, Nigeria. CJBSS is a refereed journal, published twice a year, and covers the various desciplines in development studies. Contributions from allied discipline that address business and social issues are also welcome.
